JDRF

The mission of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2010, is to find a cure for Type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes and its complications. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes children (and adults) suddenly. It afflicts some 3 million Americans, who must inject insulin daily in order to stay alive. Insulin is not a cure, however, and it doesn't prevent the disease's eventual and devastating complications, which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation.

With your help, JDRF can move life-saving research from the laboratory bench to the patient's bedside and translate scientific advances into longer, healthier lives for those with diabetes. With your help, we are moving closer to our goal ... a cure for diabetes and its complications.

The Vintage Hollywood Foundation supports charities operating in Southern California. Our 2009 event benefited the Children's Action Network which uses the power of the entertainment community to increase awareness about children's issues to make them a top priority in everyday life.
